4/81 Old Fleece Inn (previously listed as Fleece Inn) 28.6.60 II

Former inn, now detached house. Late C18; mid C19 addition. Red brick and coursed rubble limestone, all painted; brick chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Two-storey with attic; C19 addition forms L- plan. Front: C18 block has facade with moulded shaped pediment. Three-window sash fenestration, all 12-pane, to ground and upper floors except C20 glazed doorway to right; central sash to upper floor painted over. Central rusticated round-arched attic recess formerly painted with 'All drawn from the wood' in Victorian lettering, since painted over. Swept top to screen wall attached to left. South side: projecting lateral chiney stack with C19 rebuilt shaft; C19 gabled addition to left. Segmental-arched casement fenestration with single casement to attic gable. North side: keyed stone segmental-arched casements to C18 and C19 parts. Return wing in random rubble; lean-to porch in angle. Lean-to addition to gable end of return wing. Interior not inspected.
