Branly Cottage, Barnfield Cottage and Barn

II

Three dwellings in row, plus barn. Possibly C17, and late C18. Rendered brickwork, stone slate roof. Branly Cottage, gable to road, being altered at time of survey; other two cottages each two storeys, 2-windowed plus central blind opening, sashes with glazing bars; late C20 doors under C19 flat hoods on consoles. Behind Barnfield Cottage large brick C17 barn with flemish gable, facing Dursley Road (west), side segmental arch over carriage doors above which ogee headed opening now bricked up, ball finials to gables, brick modillion eaves, and some brickwork with ventilating diaper. Hexagonal turret with umbrella roof, zinc clad. Property said to be part of Berkeley Estate.

This is an important survival both for the small-scale cottages, and the barn: two of the three cottages relatively unaltered.
