Details
PAINSWICK ST MARY'S STREET SO 8609/8709 (north west side) 8/282 Stone House Antiques II House over shop, at street corner to Friday Street. C17 and early C19. Lime- stone ashlar, stone slate roof. Narrow frontage slightly set back from adjoin- ing properly to left, and returning on a segmental curve to a coped gable facing Friday Street. To St Mary's Street is two storeys, cellar and attic, with plank door under transom light and a many-paned C20 shop front, both in pilaster surround with fascia; above are two 12-pane sashes, and a 2-light glazing bar casement gabled dormer. This front has a simple cornice to parapet blocking course and a hipped end to roof. Return has, in curved section, 12-pane sash at ground and first floors, then earlier section with saddle-back coped gable which has mullioned casements: at ground floor is 2+2 with king mullion, at first a 3-light, and to attic a 2-light. The gable is set to kneelers, and this section has a first floor moulded string which continues to the property adjoining, right.
