Two pedestal tombs and one headstone.
(a) An inverted truncated pyramid. Mid to late c19. Sandstone. Low-pitched pyramidal top, corner pilasters with incised Greek key ornament, moulded base on square slab to chamfered sub-base on a platform shared with adjoining monument (b). Some incised lettering all badly eroded, except to east, records Samuel Herbert, 1887. The 1879 survey gives Edmund Herbert, Esquire, 1841, and the design of the monument is more likely to be of that than the later date.
(b) Oblong pedestal, late C18, Limestone. Square cyma pyramidal capping to moulded edge, inset corners, moulded frieze; elliptical panels east and west, fielded panels north and south, moulded base on platform shared with (a). Inset bronze tablets on 3 sides. South side has Edmund Herbert, 1772. He was a cord- wainer.
(c) Headstone. C18. Limestone. Cambered head, panel with raised top, flanked by two cherub heads and decorative drops. Centre of panel bolstered. Not legi- ble. Stone lies north of the chest tombs and immediately adjoining path from lychgate to north gate.
