PAINSWICK NEW STREET SO 8609 (part) (south east side) 9/211 Four unidentified monuments in the churchyard c. 8 m north of north-east chapel to the Church of St Mary
GV II
Four headstones. C17 and c18. Limestone.
(a) A broad stone with cambered and shaped head. Two cherubs and good cartou- che, worn, not legible.
(b) Cambered head, 2 scrolls to centre feature, husk drops, raised panel. 1879 survey gives Gill, but dot now legible.
(c) Small headstone, much eroded. Floral scroll top and drops to deep-set square panel; not legible.
(d) Undulating head, cherub with drapes, moulded edge to raised panel. 1879 survey gives Millard, but not now legible.
Group lies in south east corner of sector immediately to north of the church.
