Crossing gates at Brimscombe St Mary's crossing

GV

II

Crossing gates each side of two track railway. Probably circa 1875. Painted timber plus wire mesh. Each is main gate in two cross-braced panels set to heavy metal-capped piers, plus smaller pedestrian gate to lesser capped post. Main gates hung to heavy strap hinges. On London Road side of tracks, gate abuts lofty stone abutment wall (not included in this listing) and on the opposite side is set close to signal box (qv).

Gates and signal box remain a good contemporaneous group.
