15/270 Amberley Methodist Church
II
Methodist chapel and church room. 1790, altered with church room added 1887. Coursed rubble limestone; Welsh slate roof. Rectangular with church room addition on north east side. South east front: elevation added in 1887 in Romanesque style. Three- window fenestration, all round arched with moulded architraves, keystones and bracketed sills; Y-timber glazing bars, obscured glass. Central upper floor window is blocked with inscription panel 'BUILT 1790 - LITTLEWORTH WESLEYAN CHAPEL - Renovated 1887'. Round arched doorway with hoodmould, simple fanlight and double panelled doors. Moulded parapet cornice. Church room to right is linked at upper level with segmental archway below, this with C19 iron gates. Multi-pane casement above; 4 similar casements to church room. South west side: unaltered elevation to chapel with 4 lancets on 2 levels. Rear: 2 full height larger lancets with timber Y-tracery and coloured glass margins. Interior: gallery around 3 sides.
