GV II
Former inn, now detached house. Early-mid C17; C19 addition. Random rubble limestone; artificial stone rebuilt chimneys; stone slate roof. Single-storey with attic and high cellar storey; single storey addition to north end with attic. East front: 2 full gables each with small-pane attic casement with timber lintel. Small-pane timber casements to ground floor and cellar. Doorway to right of centre with 6-panel door and timber lintel. Indications of blocked openings in gable apexes. Small C19 hipped roofed addition below right gable is built in very large ashlar with one 4-pane sash. Lower part of building to right has C20 casements, 2 in eaves-level dormers. Two full gables to rear. Interior not inspected. Recorded as inn from 1798. Forms part of group with The Cottage (q.v.). (W.J. Sheils, 'Horsley' in V.C.H. Glos. xi, 1976, pp 175-184)
