II

School. Dated 1887. Coursed and squared limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone slate roof. Single-storey with end cross wings. Front: central range has 2 mullioned and transomed casements either side of tall eaves-mounted chimney, inscription plaque centrally below. Projecting gabled wings have single mullioned and transomed casements, plain barge boards, left gable also having clock face. Projecting opposed gabled porches, each with shouldered arched doorway, face each other across school yard. Ridge-mounted belcote to north cross wing. Full gable end to south has mullioned and transomed casement with 2 lower flanking casements, stepped hoodmould over. Rear: gabled ends to wings and smaller gable above off-centre window. Attached C20 flat-roofed addition is not of special interest. Interior not inspected. Built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, unaltered externally. (N.M.
