10/165 Group of 10 monuments in the church- yard approximately 2m south of tower to Church of St Andrew

GV II

One chest tomb and one 'tea caddy'; 8 headstones. Late C17-early C19. Limestone, some brass plates to ledger slabs. Group comprises; hexagonal 'tea caddy' with fluted frieze, round-topped panel to each face having symbols of death below; moulded cornice top with domical gadrooned capping and acorn finial; inscriptions illegible. Rectangular chest tomb with baluster-shaped ends; side panels with egg and dart border to north, fielded panel to south; cyma moulded top. Inscribed on south side to JOHN BRADLEY, died 1859 - tomb appears mid C18 design. Two rows of C17 headstones, 2 very large. Four brass plates on ledger slabs, inscribed to WILLIAM HAMBLING HERBERT, died 1791; PETER HERBERT, died 1776; MARY DOUDIN, died 1783; and ANN COATES, died 1772.
