Detached house. Early C18, considerably rebuilt 1799-1833 by Thomas Baker for himself. Random and coursed rubble limestone; ashlar and rendered brick chimneys; stone and Welsh slate roofs. Double-pile plan, 3-storey. Two-storey service and stable addition at north end. East front: 3-window fenestration, all 3-light small-paned timber casements with timber lintels; hoodmoulds above ground and middle floor casements. Central doorway with Regency architraves, double panelled doors and wrought iron porch with tent roof, ironwork incorporating initials 'T B" and date '1844'. Ends: 2 gable-mounted chimneys to each end, north service addition having east-facing 3-light chamfered mullioned casements and doorway with timber lintel. Service wing roof hipped at north end, north elevation having oval arched coach doorway and round arched stable door with fanlight. Ridge-mounted chimney is initialled 'T B' and dated '1833' and '1799' to front and rear faces respectively. Rear: central oval arched doorway enters at middle floor level, bridge spanning deep area. Doorway now blocked with casement. Two 3-light mullioned casements to ground floor; leaded casements to upper floors. Interior: doorways and fireplaces with bold reeded architraves having roundels to corners. Staircase with stick balusters and wreathed handrail terminals. Part of original spiral stair retained in south gable. Service wing contains fine timber cider press with wooden screw, dated '1811 T.B.'.
