Farmhouse with attached stable. Dated 1676; c1690 addition. c1820 alterations. Random rubble and ashlar limestone; ashlar, brick and concrete block rebuilt chimneys; stone slate roof. Two- storey; 2-storey with attic addition to north west, stable to south west. North east side: lower range to left mostly rebuilt c1820, doorway with stone lintel dated 'W F / 1676'; 6-panel door, porch with tent hood. Scattered fenestration includes blocked 3- light chamfered mullioned window to left of doorway, eaves-mounted chimney with moulded cap added c1820. Two-light casement with hoodmould to right; 2 upper floor timber casements with timber lintels. Taller cross-gabled later addition to right with 2-window fenestration to ground and upper floors, all 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements with hoods, ground floor hoodmould extending to left over blocked doorway and over 2-light casement - possibly reduced from 3-light; 3-light cellar casement, partially blocked; attic 2-light in gable with oval window above. Main ground floor casement has C19 sill-lowering. Rebuilt chimney to gable end of gabled range; small ridge-mounted timber bellcote. South west side: gable of c1690 addition to left with single- window fenestration as to opposite side. Stable range projects forward from right with gabled loft doorway to north west side, 2 doorways with stone lintels and plank doors to south east. Earlier part of house to right has external corridor addition with lean-to roof; 2 upper floor timber windows with iron casements and timber lintels. Projecting oven house to right with cut-down gable- mounted chimney. South east end: rebuilt c1820 with canted bay window and small Venetian window above with Regency tent hood. Hipped roof. Interior: Regency fittings and doorways at south east end. Built for Fream family, W F probably representing Willam Fream. (A.R.J. Jurica, 'Cranham' in V.C.H. Glos. vii, 1981, pp 199-210)
