Details

HARESFIELD HARESFIELD VILLAGE SO 81 SW 4/217 Teekles Court II Detached house. Early C17 core, enlarged to west in later C17, and again probably in C18. Coursed and dressed stone, tile roof, coped verge to south end of core with external stone stack stepped on one side with replaced double flue, stone end stack to gable end of late C17 wing. Nearly L-shape range with core of 2 rooms to east and narrow wing attached on west side and further extended in C18 originally as outbuilding. Two storeys and attic. Original entrance appears to have been on west side, now remaining as cut off chamfered Tudor arch and short chamfered and stopped lintel over, in thickness of wall. Single stone light to left had square hoodmould cut into for later wing. East side of this wing has 3 and 2-light stone mullions with square hoodmoulds to ground floor only. South side has similar fenestration, but with small single lights to each side of stack in attic and 2-light to first and ground floor on right, all with square hoodmould. Formerly a newel stair on gable end stack, now mostly removed. Interior has chamfered and stopped beams and timber frame partition walls. Core also has several 3-centred internal doorways and one original plank door on first floor.
