MORETON VALENCE A38, Putloe SO 70 NE (west side) 6/223 Putloe Court II Farmhouse. C17 core, enlarged to right in early C18, remodelled to left in later C18 and enlarged to rear probably in late C19. Timber-framed core with brick or rendered infill exposed on left hand return, on chamfered stone plinth, front of range in brick with change in brick above ground floor indicating remodelling, right hand wing in brick on mixed material plinth with chequerboard brick effect to front, stone chamfered alternating quoins and plat band. Tile roof. Left hand range has small brick lateral stack to left front; end stacks to right hand range, stone to right raised in brick, rebuilt brick to left. Core a single range of 2 storeys with formerly separate outbuilding behind linked to house in C19, small L-shape wing added to right in early C18 of 2 storeys and attic. This wing with moulded painted eaves cornice breaking forward over projecting stone keystones over four windows, 2-light later wood mullion and transoms, with red rubbed brick voussoirs. Keystone linked to chamfered plat band. Door of 6 panels in bay 2 from left, top 4 fielded, lower 2 flush, with C20 gabled glazed porch. Rear has alternating flush quoins, cambered head mullion and transoms and louvred cheese attics. Left hand range has three 2-light wood mullion and transoms with top sections leaded in new brickwork over older section on ground floor with C20 two-light to left and wide 4-light cambered head wood mullion and transom to right.
