Details

STANDISH - SO 80 NW 7/236 Moreton Hill Farmhouse and barn adjoining to east II Farmhouse, late C16/early C17, and barn attached on east side, early C19. Farmhouse of coursed and dressed stone on chamfered plinth, stone slate roof, large ashlar ridge stack to cross gabled wing with 4 diagonally set flues with moulded cornice, stone ridge stack to long wing with 2 wide probably C19 ashlar flues with frieze and moulded cornice. L-shape range with cross-gabled wing to short range, 2 storeys and attic. Long range has 3 windows, scattered hollow-moulded stone mullions with part continuous dripmould on ground floor. Stair turret with 3 small single stone framed lights in angle to cross gabled wing also with scattered hollow-moulded stone mullions with continuous dripmoulds, lobby entry plan with blocked door to south, ovolo-moulded doorway to north, oval lights to south and north gable apex. Small 2-storey later lean-to on north side, single-storey wing probably of C19 to north west corner. North gable end has 2 and 3-light stone mullions with continuous dripmoulds and some iron glazing bars on ground floor 3-light. Two small dormers to rear. Barn to east of dressed stone with flush quoins, tile roof, ashlar stack to west end. South side has brick patterned ventilating panels to left, with 2 ground floor panels set into stone cambered head openings. Opposed central flush cart entries with timber lintels. North side has small brick lean-to to left with slate roof. Interior not inspected.
