Details

MINSTERWORTH A48 SO 71 NE (south side) 5/84 Upper Moorcroft Farmhouse II Farmhouse. C16 or C17, altered C18, mid C19. Flemish-bond brickwork with flush stone quoins to front; part rear close- studded, brick-nogged timber framing; tiled roof. Three-window front, 2 1/2 storeys, one room deep, rear wing left. Front: ashlar plinth, sash window with wide glazing bars right, cambered head, stepped stone voussoirs, projecting keystone. To right of centre, single storey, gabled late C20 brick porch, half-glazed door, 2- light metal casement in returns. To left, 16-pane sash window, narrow glazing bars, head as window on right. First floor 3 irregularly-spaced 16-pane sashes, flat heads, otherwise as below. Plain parapet, parapet gables to ends and off-centre to right on front, last with oval window, plain stone surround with 4 projecting keys. Ridge chimneys each end and one bay from left. Right return brickwork renewed to half-way up first floor, older above, with outline of chimney. Timber-framing on rear right as viewed from front. Interior not inspected. Said to have been an inn at one time.
