Terrace wall and steps, and 2 urns. 1843, for T. Gambier-Parry,
probably by L. Vulliamy. Flemish-bond brickwork, ashlar stone,
terracotta urns. Wall surrounds rectangular terrace about 9m deep,
in front of house. In centre of long side 6 stone steps with
projecting nosing, bottom step scrolled at ends. About 6m in front
of wall an urn each side, leaf decoration to bowl, square base.
Either side steps terrace wall with moulded stone cap: above
balustrade in 3 sections each side of central opening, balusters to
end over, brick wall centre, wide stone cap with moulded edge.
Square plain piers each side centre. At corners larger square
pier, rising above balustrade, recessed joints, wide urn above with
handles. Right return, 6 stone steps down at front, with plain
ashlar wall to terrace level each side: steps framed short ashlar
spurs each side; balustrade as front on terrace wall, further
large pier with wide urn at rear: between last and corner of house
6 stone steps down to rear. Left return as right, but with a
smaller urn each side of front steps; large urn at rear missing.
