Details
PAINSWICK VICARAGE STREET SO 8609/8709 (north side) 7/342 Hillview Cottage GV II Detached house, slightly set back from street, formerly two cottages. Early Cl9. Dressed squared coursed limestone, flush quoins, slate roof, large brick gable stacks. Three storeys, 1 + 1 windows: 16-pane at ground and first floors, and near-square 8-pane at eaves. These are set very wide spaced to stone sills and plain lintels, and central is a C20 door in plain reveals. To each side of this opening are the former doorways, now filled flush with masonry, but the segmental voussoir heads still in situ. Modest, but externally still redolent of its age and forming a group with Dialtryst and Valpré (q.q.v. ).
