PAINSWICK ST MARY'S STREET SO 8609/8709 (part) (west end) 8/288 Stocks Cottage 21.10.55 GV II
Detached house, adjoining churchyard. Early C17. Coursed dressed limestone, stone slate roof and small stone gable stacks. Two storeys and attic, 2 windows; 3-light chamfered mullion casements in stopped hoods. Central doorway now blocked, and C20 door in porch extension to left. Two small 2-light gabled dormers. Gable to churchyard has a 2-light hollow chamfer mullion casement, and a blocked doorway; back has two 2-light C19 glazing bar casements at first floor and 2 dormers. The building is set at right angles to the churchyard, and faces along St Mary's Street.
