Details

PAINSWICK SHEEPSCOMBE SO 81 SE 2/291 Lodge and walling to The Grange GV II Lodge, gateway and boundary walls. Late C19. Squared and coursed limestone, stone slate roof, but Welsh slate towards road. A small cross-gabled structure linked to main house by stone wall with coping, stepped at one point, and with square pier immediately adjacent to house, further pair of piers, plain cappings, to former carriage opening, then plank door in 4-centre opening under hood-mould. Large wall to road is plain and ungabled. Towards house has small Tudor door under a 2-light casement with hood; to garden, one window, 3-light chamfer mullion casements set flush, no hoods, at ground and first floor, both with leading. To the gable a raised square panel bearing a Maltese cross; decorative brackets to eaves. To the right a lower, small stable block with plank door, curved wall back to road.
