Farmhouse. Dated and initialled 'F.B * A.B/l63l' on the right-hand gable of the south-facing elevation. Coursed squared and dressed limestone; close-studded timber-framing with decorative bracing to the rear; stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. 'L'-shaped plan with later extensions to the north. C20 flat-roofed 2-storey porch to the rear, not of special interest. Symmetrical twin-gabled south-facing elevation to the main body with a tall central 2-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned window with 3 transoms; 4-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned casements either side; continuous dripmould stepped up over the central window. Two 3-light ovolo- moulded stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to the first floor; small single-light window with ovolo-moulded surround and diamond leaded panes; blocked ovolo-moulded 2-light casements to each gable; datestone over the right-hand window; 3-light ovolo- moulded stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood to the attic at the left gable end; two similar 2-light windows at the right gable end. No windows to extension set back to the left. Rear elevation of main body timber framed with wing projecting forwards to right with gable to the left-hand return, similar timber framed gable to the rear of the main body. Four-light casement with horizontal glazing bars to the east-facing gable; early oriel window with transom above; similar oriel window to the south-facing gable end; 3-light casement with diamond leaded panes to the east-facing gable. Two-light casement to the gable of north facing gable. Further windows formerly lighting this gable reputed to have been removed to The Pigeon House (q.v.). C20 porch conceals an early panelled and studded porch with early thumb latch. Projecting gable-end stack with twin shafts; composite axial stack with 4 shafts. Moulded cappings to all ashlar stacks. Moulded gable end coping with moulded kneelers. Interior: C17 dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and newels with ball finials; linenfold panelling to one side of cellar access beneath stairs. Beams with moulded stops. Kitchen with large fireplace c3.5m in width with bressumer with moulded stops. Tudor-arched stone fireplace to ground floor. Two Tudor-arched stone fireplaces one with fluted stops, the other with entablature with frieze with 'S'-curve decoration and moulded brackets also with 'S'-curve decoration, fireplace now contains a mid C18 hob grate. Mostly original roof timber with collar beams with 'V'- struts.
