17/39 Gothic Cottage

GV II

Cottage. Late C18-early C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins; artificial stone slate roof with rendered stack. Rectangular plan with lean-to extensions to rear. Two storeys. Symmetrical 3-windowed west front overlooking graveyard. Two-light casements with leaded panes and Y-glazing within dressed pointed-headed surrounds. Central part-glazed 4- panel door with Y-glazing at the top, within a pointed-headed surround. East front, facing Station Road: single-light and 2- light C19 casements with horizontal glazing bars; C20 wooden top- hung plate glass casement and smaller similar casement to the ground floor of the lean-to. Central C20 gabled stone-built porch. C20 eaves dormer without glazing bars, and skylight. Semi-circular bread oven projects from the north side of the lean-to. Hipped roof with gable-end stacks. Interior not inspected.
