Large house. Mid C17-early C18. Square-panelled timber framing
with brick infill and limestone rubble; artificial stone slate and
red tile roofing; ashlar and red brick stacks. 'L'-shaped plan
with timber-framed cross wing at the west gable end. C20 brick
extensions to the rear, not of special interest. Two storeys and
attic. Roadside front: hipped gable with timber-framed first
floor far left. Three-light wooden casement with horizontal
glazing bars to the ground floor 4-light oriel window with moulded
supporting bracket decorated with an upsidedown heart and fluting
to the first floor; 2-light hipped dormer to the attic; matching
fenestration to the left-hand return. Dentil decoration to the
projecting wall plate over the timber framed part. Two C20 three-
light steel casements to the ground floor of the rubble-built part;
two matching 2-light casements to the first floor. C20 twelve-
panel door with studs and fillets. Two large C20 steel casements
and a similar smaller 3-light casement to the right gable end.
Ashlar gable-end stack with moulded capping to the timber-framed
cross range. Brick gable-end stack to the rubble-built range.
Interior not inspected.
