Details
TODDINGTON CHURCH LANE SP 03 SW (east side) 3/160 Ivy Cottage GV II House. C17, C18, late C19 or early C20. Timber-framing with rendered infill on coursed, squared stone plinth; coursed, squared stone, irregular-bond brickwork; walls faced vertical barked poles: stone slate roof. 'L' plan: 3-window, 2-storey, single- room thick block with rear wing; single-room, 1 1/2-storey extension to end; single-storey wing at right angles. East face, right return: framing 4 panels high, long, straight braces to ends from sill; central 6-panel door, rectangular light over: 3-light casement with leaded lights each side. Above two similar windows, 2-light between. Brick chimney against left gable. On left lower wing, stone wall, rising into tall stone dormer, with brick chimney on apex. Left return stone ground floor, brick above, 2-light casement with timber lintel to each; half-hip above. Single- storey link, single-panel framing over plinth, 2-light casement, boarded door. Slightly-taller wing beyond, barked poles over plinth, with diamond decoration; single and 3-light casement, double doors faced as wall: 2 louvred ventilators on ridge. Forms group with church and manor (q.v.).
