13/158 Stableblock c20m north-west of Puckrup Farmhouse
GV II
Stableblock with loft over. Early-mid C19. Brick with a red tile roof. Two rectangular blocks linked by steps up to loft. Right- hand block; 4-bays, 4 blind segmental-headed arches two with C20 stable doors with shallow C19 segmental-headed surrounds, two with double C20 plank doors with timber lintels. Small central gablet. Rear wall similar to front wall with four blind arches one with a single (probably original) ventilation slit, later fixed casements inserted into the other 3 arches. Panelled door at the right gable end within a shallow segmental-headed surround. Pitching window within a segmental-headed surround above. Steps up to plank door to loft at the left gable end. Owl/ventilation holes with rubbed brick surround. Brick dentils at eaves. Former open-fronted store set slightly forward of the latter block with an open-fronted arcade comprising 7 segmental-headed arches. C20 partition wall with stable doors now inserted behind the arcade. Rear wall; 7 blind arches with fixed casements inserted at a later date. Small gablet with owl/ventilation hole. Brick dentils at eaves. This range forms an important element within a farmyard group.
