PRESTBURY UPPER MILL LANE In the entry for SO 92 SE (north side) 10/104 KNOLL HILL HOUSE II Large detached house. C18 and C19. Brick with dressed stone quoins. Stone slate roof with ashlar stack. Flattened 'T'-shaped plan with early C20 extension at right gable end. C19 extension at left gable end. Two storeys and attic. 1:4:1-windowed facade. Forward facing gables at both ends. Right-hand gable C19 with single-storey lean-to to right. Single storey extension at left gable end. Twelve-pane sashes within dressed limestone architraves with keystones. Two smaller similar windows formerly lighting attics of forward facing gables (now blocked). Canted bay to ground floor of left-hand gable, rectangular bay to right-hand gable. Gabled C19 porch with glass door with glazing bars at front off centre right. Circular window with decorative glazing within a dressed limestone surround with four keystones above. Two hipped roof dormers. Two and 4-light stone-mullioned, possibly late C17 or early C18, case- ments to projecting gable at rear. Two with stopped hoods. Late C20 porch to right. Fine C19 lead flower trough with vine scroll motif in relief and water pump dated and initialled 'R. S. 1851' along rear wall to right of the porch; both brought from else- where in late C20. Interior not inspected.
