GV II*

C15, C16, C18 (licensed 1547). Large U-shaped late medieval timber-framed structure with C18 front. 2 storeys, 2.1.3.2 windows. Red tile roof with gable at east end tile-hung above brick dentil band, with decorative barge boards. Painted brickwork, rubbed flat arches, stone cills, plinth, slightly projecting centre and east wing. Sashes in exposed frames (4 old on 1st floor, others Victorian). At the east bay before the gable, a Greek Doric porch of 2 columns, 2 pilasters, architrave to wide opening with double flush-panelled doors, all on stone steps. 2 projecting wrought-iron sign brackets, one with decorative terminal. The rear extensions have exposed timber framing and more recent single-storeyed outshots with painted brick infill, casements (some old). Within is a massive chimney at the west end, with painting on plaster at the 1st floor, and a carved fireplace on the ground floor in a room with panelled walls, all of C16.
