SU 45 NW ASHMANSWORTH CRUX EASTON 2/17 Crux Easton House II
1771. Tall 2-storeyed block, with an extension on the north-east end of 2 lower storeys (of 2 levels), and a single-storeyed wing projecting westwards from the north-west corner. flipped tile roofing; stucco walling to the main part, painted brickwork elsewhere, plinth. The west elevation (apart from tile wing) is symmetrical, of 0.2.0 windows, the centrepiece being raised above the eaves with a pediment, which is broken by a tall arched recess (staircase window?) with stone key and impost blocks, above the entrance, with small lights (ground floor blank) on each side. The south-west end is a half hexagon, with one central sash above 3 sashes; the north-east gable has an arched recess containing a clock-face and the date 1771. The wings are plain, with one large arched sash window and a large panelled door on the west face of the north extension. The main doorway has a moulded cornice and doorposts, panelled reveals and a half-glazed door; there is a half--glazed modern porch to the north end.
