8/10002 Barn and cattlesheds at Manor Farm

Barn and cattle sheds stables and cartshed, 1873-75. Built in mass concrete using in part the crushed debris of older buildings as an aggregate by passing the mixed brick stones, flint etc through a Blake's Crusher. 1 section iron floor beams with shallow curved roofs now either covered in slate or corrugated iron sheeting. These form 3 parallel ranges of animal sheds linked by a rear block including a barn and cartshed. South eastern range appears to have had a coach house in the middle and stables at the end. 5 pivoting casements with metal glazing bars. Slate roof with 2 through purlins and ridgepiece. Central range is of 1 storey with curved corrugated iron roof. 5 doors and 3 windows. Curved wooden roof trusses. Rear is open on 2 cast iron supports and padstones. North eastern range is of 2 storeys with curved corrugated iron roof. 4 C20 metal casement. Rear range is of 2 storeys with corrugated iron roof. Series of 3 hoists at 1st floor level and 3 sliding doors. The left side has an open ground floor, the 1st floor supported on 5 iron columns with stone staddles. 5 bay loft above this cart shed. 6 bay barn to right hand side.
