SU 3853 HURSTBOURNE TARRANT THE SQUARE

10/66 Four Winds, with 20 12 60 with forecourt wall and piers (formerly listed as Four winds) GV II

House. Late C18. Brick and slate. Symmetrical front (south-west) of 2 storeys, 3 windows. Walls masked by foliage, there is a wood eaves cornice with full mouldings and small modillions, beneath a hipped roof. Cambered arch to the centre light, plinth. Sashes, with 2-storeyed splayed bays at each side. Doorway with moulded canopy (with panelled soffit) on carved brackets, architrave and 5-panelled (1 top glazed) door. The other walls are rendered, 2 with coved eaves, with a lower 2-storeyed extension brick and tile, and sash and casement windows. The C20 forecourt brick wall is linked by 6 original piers, each with stone caps and 2 rusticated bands of unknapped flint.
