In the entry for 4/4 ANDOVER BRIDGE STREET Station Hotel Stable Block In Part 2 of the entry, line 1 should be amended after the word "roof"' by the addition of :- hipped at the west end and gabled at the east.
------------------------------------ SU 3645 SW ANDOVER BRIDGE STREET 4/4 Station Hotel II Early C19. Built as the Eight Bells Public House next to the wharf at the head of the canal (1796) from Redbridge. (Southampton Water). Regular facade (north) of 2 storeys, 5 above 3 windows. Low-pitched slate roof, with hips and wide eaves. Painted brick walling in Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches, stone cills. Victorian sashes, a 3-window angular bay at the first floor east side, and tripartite sashes to the ground floor. Tuscan porch of simple design, 2 columns, 2 pilasters, a 6 panelled door beneath a fanlight. A long lower wing extends to the rear at the west side.
