Details
ROMSEY EXTRA BROADLANDS ESTATE SU 32 SE 3/17 Red Lodge II Lodge dwelling. c1870, an 'Old English (Tudor) design by W E Nesfield. Walls of red brickwork in English bond with a high plinth double in part), the prominent north gable being tile-hung with scalloped pattern and is jettied at the 1st floor; above the entrance is a jettied section with plaster filled timber-frame, ending in a gable (again projected on brackets) with decorative bargeboards. Tile roof, with large and small gables and varied eaves levels: prominent chimney stack with vertical ribbed pattern in cut brickwork. The building has a simple rectangular form, enriched by varied details; one and a half storeys, irregular fenestration. The oak-framed casements have leaded lights of very small panes, used as a standard unit in different multiples, to. fit different sizes of openings. Tudor doorframe and boarded door. A small single,storeyed rear wing is masked by a high wall.
