BROUGHTON HIGH STREET (west side) SU 3033 10/15 The Old Thatch 29/5/57 GV II House. C17. Timber-frame mostly encased in colour washed brick, thatched roof. 1 1/2 storey, 3 bay with low wing to rear on right originally service building and wing to rear on left. Front has plinth and in centre C19 pent-roofed bay with roof extended to right as hood over 4-panel door above 2 brick steps. Bay has 6-light Gothic casement. To left blocked door opening. Near each end C20 3-light casement. Over left and centre bay C18 3-light casement in eyebrow dormer. Roof half-hipped to left. Large ridge stack to left of centre. Wing to rear on right. Service range single storey, 4 bay. Bay against main house has 3-light casement, next bay has exposed timber-frame and 2-light casement.
