7/18 Kingsley Mill
II
Watermill and attached millhouse, now one dwelling. Late C18, with C20 restor- ation. Brick and stone walls, with a tile roof. The mill building is a long rectangular block, of 2 storeys and attic: the plain roof has a tiny gabled dormer on each face: the walls are of Flemish bond with blue headers and cambered (original) openings. There are 3 narrow water passages with stonecut-waters, at one side with a timber beam head and on the other with arched heads. Casements, boarded doors. The house part is attached at the north end, and the older section has walls of coursed chalkstone with brick dressings (quoins, some cambered openings, and plinth). Mostly C20 metal casements. The C18 doorway has a plain frame surrounding a fanlight, a moulded canopy, and a 6-panelled door. Minor lower extensions on the east side have tiled roof and brick walls.
