SU 74 SE BENTLEY BENTLEY GREEN The Drift 4/46 31/07/63 St. Clements Cottage (formerly listed as GV II St Clement's)

House. C17, with C18 extension, and C20 restoration and minor extensions. Timber-frame, brick and stone walls, with a tiled roof. A timber-framed lobby- entrance house with timber-framed extensions at each end, and a rear extension (C18) in stone. 2 storeys and attic, 3 irregular windows. The roof is gabled at the east end above an outshot roof, hipped at the west end with a steep outshot roof; shafted stack. The frame is exposed in the upper part with herring bone brick infill, other front walls being of brickwork in English bond, with a plinth; at the east side and the rear extension there is coursed chalkstone with brick dressings, the west side of the rear being painted brickwork, with cambered openings. Casements: attic windows in the east gable and in the front gable (above the original west side bay). C20 brick gabled porch. Inside, there is a wood panelled fireplace surround of Jacobean style.
