Details
LONDON ROAD 1. 5236 (North West Side) Holybourne No 112 (Holybourne Lodge) SU 7340 1/21 13.3.51. II 2. Late C18, altered in early C19 and later. 2 storeys; 3 bays. Colour-washed brick; hipped slate roof. Ground and 1st floors with recessed sash windows with depressed arched heads. Brick dentil cornice with, above that, a cornice with lions' masks serving as a gutter. The return forms part of NE front. Here, on the left, are a couple of recessed sash windows and the present entrance to the house, a modern door beneath an Ionic pedimented porch. To the right, first, a 2-storey single bay link. Yellow stock brick; slate roof. Then a 3-storey canted bay with recessed sash windows in the sides only. 1st floor windows with wavy pattern wrought iron balconies. Yellow stock brick; slate roof. To the right again, a 2-storey extension 2 bays wide. Colour-washed brick; slate roof. 2 sash windows on each of ground and 1st floors. Interior with some C18 fireplaces and an early-C19 stair.
