10/3 Barn and attached farm ranges 10.11.82 to south-east of Avon Farmhouse

GV II

Barn and attached low ranges. C18 or early C19. Brick, plain tile roof. U- shaped range of barn forming end of courtyard, one range running from end of barn towards farmhouse forming rest of that side, other range running from side at other end of barn, along road, forming most of road side of courtyard. Barn, end on to road of 5 bays, with centre bay open on both sides, used as entrance to court- yard. On outer face other bays have a lozenge pattern of ventilation holes. Roof ½-hipped at far end. Inside queen-strut roof with some windbraces. From far end runs high single storey, 4 bay range, both sides segmental-head doorways. Along road single storey, 7 bay range, has on road elevation in every other bay a blind opening. Segmental head doorways on other side. Roof hipped.
