13/103 Community Centre (Town Hall)
GV II Civic hall. Mid C19. Brick, stucco features, and a slate roof. A building of classical form, with a symmetrical front (north), prominent in the local setting, of 2 storeys, 3 windows. Yellow brick walling, stucco dressings; plinth, cambered arches to the ground-floor wide openings (containing fan- lights above double 1 ½-glazed doors), 1st floor moulded band, moulded cill band to 1st floor windows, which have round heads and sashes, moulding above the frieze, and a modillion cornice, which also follows a steep pediment, enclosing a small circular opening. To the east side is a single-storeyed entrance, with a recessed plain arch within an arch having a keystone and impost mouldings; above the arch is a parapet containing swag ormamentation, and a coping. Arched windows occur in the upper part of the east side, over- looking the entrance corridor, which ends as a square 2-storeyed block (prominent when seen from the churchyard), with coupled arched windows to the upper floor, eaves cornice, and low-pitched pyramid roof.
