Nos 104 and 105 (Farthings
and Fardells)
GV II
House with attached cottage. Early C17 and C18. Timber-frame with colour
washed brick infill part rendered, roof thatch. Fardells 4 bay 1½ storey,
on plinth. C20 door with hood, and baffle entry, just left of centre. To
left small 1 & 2 light leaded casements original openings. To right 2 & 3
light leaded casements. Timber-frame largely complete with small square
panels and diagonal braces. Above 4 eyebrow dormers with C18 2-light leaded
casements sill cut into wall plate and below sill C20 2-light casements. Roof
half-hipped with ridge piece, large multi-flued ridge stack left of centre
with free standing hip stacks at either end. To left end lean-to with
asbestos sheet roof and C19 2-light casement. To right Farthings 2 storey,
double pile, 2 bay cottage, with lower ridged slated roof. To left C19 door
with timber gabled porch to right 2 C19 2-light casements. Above on left
long 3-light window. Central ridge brick stack.
