Details

SU 61 NW CORHAMPTON & MEONSTOKE 7/13 Meonstoke House 6.3.67 II House. Late C18, with mid C19 extensions at each side. Brickwork in Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches, recessed panels in the parapet, rusticated quoins to the ground- floor, plain stone bands to plinth, 1st & 2nd floor, and coping to parapet, 1st floor central window has an eared architrave with triple keystone. Hipped tile roof, hipped dormers: plain roof to later wings. Symmetrical west elevation of two storeys and attic above a basement, five windows. Sashes in exposed frames, casements to dormers and basement. Stone doorcase, with cornice, rusticated pilasters supporting a widened lintel with triple keystone, half-glazed door, above a flight of ten outward-curving steps with wrought-iron handrails. The wings are set back. The east front is identical, with rendered parapet, no basements, and C20 porch of classical style; the south wing extends forward as a mid C19 vernacular elevation of two storeys two windows, with a wide tiled porch, the north wing extends on the same front wall without features, having a three-storeyed (c1900) north gable with wide Arts and Crafts casements.
