BISHOPS WALTHAM ASHTON LANE SU 51 NW 3/9 Little Manor II
House. C17 lobby entrance timber-framed house, substantially renovated (with extensions) in the late C18, with late C19 extensions of matching style, and minor C20 extensions. Walls of brickwork. (colourwashed) in Flemish bond with some blue headers, above old high moulded plinth (broken) cambered openings, stone cills, coping stone to parapet raised at each corner with a ball finial: other walls of Flemish Garden Wall or mixed bonds. Hipped and half-hipped tile roof, behind a high parapet on the two main elevations, with coupled diagonal stacks on a rectangular base (with stone plaque dated 1620). North-west front elevation of two storeys four windows. Sashes in reveals. Doorway with open pediment on reeded pilasters, arched opening with radiating fanlight, 6-panelled door. Inside, there is some survival of the timber frame, a late C18 staircase, reeded architraves to panelled doors, and two fireplaces.
