13/35 Nos. 1 & 2 Old Post Office Cottages and The Old Post Office
GV II
Row of cottages. Late C18 and on tablet 'TH 1834' on The Old Post Office, possibly earlier. Brick with blue headers partly colourwashed, thatched roof. 1½ storey, irregular, pair of 2 bay cottages to left and 4 bay cottage to right. Left cottages have each side of centre C20 planked door with small 3-light casement beside and in end bays 2-light segmental headed casements, all openings with segmental heads. Above 3 2-light casements in eyebrow dormers, 2 to left. 4-bay cottage has central glazed door, 2 2-light casements to left and 3-light casement at right end, all with segmental heads except small light to right of centre. 4 2-light casements in eyebrow dormers and tablet above door. Roof abuts taller Bacton Thatch (qv) to left and is half-hipped to right. Ridge stacks above centre of pairs of cottages in centre of right one and to left of centre of right cottage.
