Pump house and associated well-head. c1813, probably by CS Smith for Thomas Leigh of Stoneleigh Abbey. Ashlar, with plain tile roof. Single storey, 3 x 1 bays. Gothic Revival style, with diagonal buttresses and blocking course. Openings have 4-centred arches with hood moulds. Windows, mostly blocked, have stone tracery and remains of cast-iron glazing bars. On each side, 3 openings, blank except for the doorway on the N side. At each end, a 2-light window. Brick well-head, to south, is circular, with shallow pitched stone slab roof. Projection on pump-house side, with wooden door. INTERIOR: Common rafter roof with louvres in gables. Contains original water wheel, sluice and 3-throw pump.
