Bank barn. C17 or earlier; remodelled circa C18. Snecked dressed granite boulders with dressed granite quoins; upper courses granite rubble. Scantle slate roof with dressed granite coping and kneelers.
PLAN: Small rectangular single-cell building with entrance to ground floor byre on south east front; raised to 2-storeys in C18 to form barn/loft with doorway in south west gable end at higher ground level.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. South east front has small square ground floor window on right and doorway on left with loft doorway above. South west gable-end with loft doorway on left at higher ground level. Rear, north west, blind. North east gable-end has small loft window on right in original gable, but probably formed later. All openings have granite lintels.
INTERIOR: Loft floor is later replacement; later 3-bay roof with nailed collar trusses.
A rare survival of a small early farm building in the ancient Penwith landscape.
