Details

SU 6423 WEST MEON STATION ROAD 15/35 West Meon House 6.3.67 II House. Early C18, early and late C19, early and late C20. Walls of flint with mixture of malmestone, small remains of stone quoins, most dressings of brickwork (quoins, bands, cambered arches), some sections of brick walling in Flemish bond with blue headers, minor rendered parts. Tile roof, hipped and gabled (with kneelers), hipped dormers, coved eaves cornice: prominent late C19 Tudor stacks. The symmetrical west front has a recessed centre and gabled sides, of two storeys and attic, 1.1.1 windows; a late C19 two storeyed service wing is set back at the south side. Sashes. Mid C20 Tuscan doorcase. The east elevation was similar, but the north side gable has been brought forward as a massive bow, 2.1.3 windows. At the south end, single-storeyed service wings extend east and west from the main wing, linked by a series of high flint walls.
