Aqueduct carrying the Trent and Mersey Grand Trunk Canal over the River Dove c.1777, James Brindley engineer. Red brick with later repairs in red and blue bricks. Sandstone copings. Twenty three low segmental arches, of which twelve are visible, the piers with impost bands. Plain walls above with flat copings and no parapets. The walls curve out at the ends to square piers. The Trent and Mersey Grand Trunk Canal was sanctioned by an act of 1766, opened to a point near Stafford in 1770 and completed in 1777.
