Pair of cottages, part of group. Early C19. Rubble, concrete tile roof. The building is set to the steep slope of the hill, and abuts No.2 (qv) to the right, forming an L-shaped group. 2 storeys, 1+2 windows; No.4 has an early 15-pane cast-iron casement in a blocked wider opening, and a 2-light small-pane casement at eaves level, above one small and one larger 12-pane sashes to segmental stone voussoirs. Centred to these is a C20 glazed door in segmental head. No.6 has a replacement C20 three-light casement at each level,and a C20 door to the right. A brick stack at the left gable, and at the party wall division. INTERIOR: not inspected. These may have been built as service accommodation related to the more formal attached house, No.2 (qv).
