Pair of houses at end of row. c1820-1840. Rendered, concrete tile.2 storeys and attic, 2+1 windows; No.68 has a large C20 flat-roofed dormer (added since the former listing), and No.70 an original 6-pane sash dormer. Each house has an 8:12:8-pane sash bow oriel with moulded cornice, and No.68 has a 12-pane sash in reveals to the right, C20 shop front to No.68, and C19 pilaster shop front to No.70, with wide glazed door under shallow transom light to the right. Outer gable stack to each; No.68 has a plain rendered gable, to Albert Street, with a paired sash at first floor and a blocked former arched doorway, and with a low slated wing with door and 2 windows. No.70 has a plain return gable, and brick back. INTERIOR of No.68 has iron posts on ground floor supporting first floor, some interior partitions removed, Victorian staircase, its balustrade partly missing. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached to rear of No.70 is a rubble wall raised in brick with brick coping, approx 10m long, to a small 2-storey gabled range.
