Lodge. 1896, by H. Paxton Watson for Whitaker-Wright the financier, in a
free Tudor style. Snecked sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, plain
tiled roofs. L-shaped plan. Two storeys with projecting two storey square
bays under gables. Stacks to right hand return front of gabled wing to
right and further stacks to rear. Plaques to gables. One stone mullioned,
3-light,leaded casement window to first floor and arched panelled doors to
ground floor under eyebrow hoods, flanking large arched gateway with massive
panelled double gates. Arched head to gates, open. Projecting gabled wing
to right with jettied first floor and shallow angle bay to ground floor. One
three-light leaded casement to first floor and single light casements to
ground floor. Gabled wing to rear right at right angles.
