House. Circa early C17. Whitewashed and rendered, probably cob and stone rubble; wooden shingle roof, hipped at left end, gabled at right end; rendered stacks, 1 at left end, 1 axial. 3 room and through passage plan, the inner room at the right end unheated and used for storage, the hall stack backing onto the passage, the lower end room heated from the left end stack. 2 stairs, 1 against the front wall of the hall, 1 against the rear wall of the lower end room. Small single-storey C20 lean-to at rear. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front with a wide 4 plank front door with strap hinges to left of centre leading into the passage. A separate entrance at the extreme right gives access to the inner room. To the left of this doorway a 2-light unglazed timber mullioned window has deep chamfered mullions. Ground floor window to right of front door is a 2-light casement, 6 panes per light, other fenestration is C20 metal casements, mosty in enlarged embrasures. Interior: A moulded cross beam with scroll stops survives in the hall; the C20 grate may conceal an earlier fireplace. The lower end room has 1 chamfered cross beam and 1 rough crossbeam. The roof is C20 throughout but the stumps of a jointed cruck truss survive over the right hand end.
